(I'm Back!) Maybelline Review: Eyeshadow Trio in Chocolate Mousse (plus nails)

Hi everyone!!! Sorry I haven't posted in forever! The last few weeks of school have been CRAZY, but it's finally summer! I still won't have much time because I have a job, but I will try to post more. So, I thought I would come back by doing a review on another Maybelline product! This product is an eyeshadow trio. I LOVE this trio!! It is PERFECT for an everyday look. I use the first light brown as an all over eye color, then the darker brown in the crease and the off white for brownbone/inner corner. And that's all the eyeshadow I need, it one convenient pallette! It will say, these colors are fairly pigmented, but NOT super pigmented by any means. But this makes the look more muted and casual, which is what I go for in an everyday look. This is only like 4 or 5 dollars as well, and maybelline often has sales/coupons at the drugstore, so keep your eye out for that! Last of all, my nails. I am wearing Sinful Colors' "Ruby Ruby". It's a beautiful, bright red. Love it!

Sephora haul! Plus nails :)

So I ordered a few things from Sephora a few weeks ago and I thought I would do a haul. First I got benefit's "stay put" set, which has a Stay don't stay eye shadow primer, erase paste concealer, and a creaseless cream eye shadow in RSVP (shimmer champagne-y color). I love all! I really, really love the erase paste and I am considering getting the full version, works great as under eye concealer! Plus this whole set only cost $10!!! Great for trying out benefit products.

Next I got the show pony shadow box from Urban Decay. The eye shadow colors in it are AMAZING! Some neutral colors and some crazy colors, very pigmented. It also came with a mini UD primer potion (amazing, of course) as well as a 24/7 glide on eyeliner pencil (zero-black). Works great, so smooth!! I LOVED this palette, and for only $16, a steal!!!

I also got a lot of free skin care samples! The only one I have tried so far is the moisturizer from Sephora. I really like it! Very moisturizing and smell good! :)

Last, on my nails is Sinful colors midnight blue-one coat! Amazing!

FYI-Track and Field Part I

Hey! Today I am starting a new part of my blog the FYI (for your information) section, a weekly post about all things health related! This will include diet/food, exercise, sports, and more! Today I decided to start this section off by talking about the sport I am currently involved in, Track and Field! This week I will do part one, which will include distance running, throws, and pole vault (stay tuned next week for sprints, jumps, and hurdles).

Distance Running: These are the events I do, so they are my personal favorite of track :) They consist of the 800 meters (2 laps), 1500 meters (3 and 3/4 laps), and 3000 me
ters (7 and 1/2 laps) for high school. In college they also have the 3000 meter steeplechase (four barriers and one water jump, see picture below), the 5000 meters and the 10,000 meters (25 laps!!!).

Throws: In high school, throws are javelin, shot put, and discus. In college there is also the hammer throw (picture below). I don't really know a whole lot about throws, but if you have any questions, comment and I will try to answer it :)
Pole vault: Pole vault it pretty self explanatory. You use a pole to propel yourself over a bar, starting at a low hight and continuing until you FAIL. The men's world record is 20ft 1 and 3/4 inches, women's is 16 ft 7 and 1/4 inches.

Weekly Maybelline Review: The Falsies Mascara

Hey Everyone! Today I'm starting a new series for my blog. It will be a weekly review of a Maybelline product. I have tried a lot of Maybelline products, and so I thought I would share my thoughts on them. Hopefully this will help you when you are shopping for drugstore products!

This week I will be reviewing Maybelline's "The Falsies" Mascara. I have it in Black Drama (waterproof). This can very in drugstores from around $7-10. It was a scooped brush (as you can sort of see from the first picture) and comes out sort of clumpy on the brush. At first, I really, really hated this mascara. I could not get it too look nice on my lashes, I though it made them look clumpy and gross! BUT after a week or two of sticking with it (I was too lazy to buy a different mascara) I began to like it! I think this was because of a combination of two reasons: 1) It takes a while to get used to the scoop brush! I had to teach myself how to use it correctly. But I got the hang of it! 2) I think that for this formula you have to let it sit a while and dry out just a bit before it works properly! I think the problem for the first two weeks was that it was too wet! Overall: I do like it now, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. I think it is WAY overhyped by Youtube beauty gurus! It is a decent price, but I think if you are going to buy a drugstore mascara, I had a much better time with the L'Oreal Voluminous mascara!

How I do my nails!

Hey everyone!

This post will be about how I do my nails. First I start with a clear basecoat (below is Sinful Color's "Basecoat (4)". Then I apply the polish. I find that most of Sinful Colors' nail polish only requires one coat! Today I used "Feeling Great" by Sinful Colors. Afterwards I add a drop of Sally Hansen's "Insta-Dri Speed Dry Drops". These work AMAZING! Seriously, I put one drop of this on each nail and they are dry in about 3 minutes! And they work as an amazing topcoat! So... that's all!

Welcome to my blog!

Hey everyone!

Some of you may know my as lolor15 from Youtube. The reason I have ventured into the realm of blogging is because I decided it would be a better place for me to post my opinions and thoughts on a number of things such as beauty, fashion, books, health, and more. I realized over time that I wasn't really comfortable putting myself out there on Youtube for the world to see. By blogging I can still do many of the things I did on Youtube, favorites, reviews, ect, but I don't have to find a good time to film, lighting, editing, ect. I will most defiantly post lots of pictures on this blog. I hope many of my Youtube subscribers will follow me on this blog, and lots of other people as well. That's all for now, the first real post will be up soon! Thanks!

PS: I named this blog "laurel" because my name, Lauren, mean "crowned with laurel". :)
